
Yoga is about wholeness, unity, balance and harmony
Yoga IS for ordinary people! It's for young and old, those who deal with stress day in and day out, people who might want to improve the quality of their lives and for those who might benefit from a bit more calm - in and around them. Yoga is a mind/body discipline that promotes health, well-being, relaxation and peace of mind.
What I offer up is private tuition for those who have never tried yoga before. Those who might feel a bit intimidated by going into a class with well toned bodies & trying to "fit " in.
(We've all been there!)
My approach is to offer gentle yoga, stretching & breathing exercises for beginners -
to work within their capabilities & allow them to enjoy the movements.
(Don't think you have to sit cross legged & knotted up to take part!)
Increase flexibility, improve concentration, tone & strengthen your body & relax...
I'm also happy to work with children (have had CRB checks) & can offer after school classes.
Yoga builds coordination, body awareness, control, relaxation and a sense of accomplishment for children in this fast paced world. Unlike other sports, there is no competition with yoga. You don't compare your performance with others, there is no sense of being the fastest, the best - you do as your body allows and gain total acceptance. It is an activity that encourages movement - which is something children get less and less of these days - and it's fun! And it provides an opportunity for children to "wind down" and control some of their abundant energy.

Meditation
Meditation is a WONDERFUL way to stop, relax, and put things into perspective. With the hurried lifestyle we have these days, a simple 15 meditation each day can be a quick and effient way to eliminate a lot of the stress. Relaxation is the key to shifting consciousness. This includes physical & mental relaxation. Most of us hold emotional and mental tension somewhere in the body. As you learn to relax the physical body, emotional and mental tension is alleviated.
I offer meditation classes for groups or individuals that will help "clear the cobwebs", transform your thoughts from negative to more positive, from disturbed to peaceful, from unhappy to happy. And you need not get yourself into a bendy lotus position to participate - sitting in a chair will do just fine.
This is a profound spiritual practice you can enjoy throughout the day, not just while seated in meditation. It will provide an opportunity to calm the mind, rest the body and revive the soul.
Meditation classes are for 1 hr each and will introduce a number of meditation techniques and guided imagery to help you unwind, relax and focus on what is important to you.
